DORSET Police No Excuse has issued a warning after receiving reports of a number of cars driving inappropriately.
A post on its Facebook page said: “If it goes wrong, this will cause more strain on the NHS – there is no excuse to what we have witnessed.”
Officers clocked a red Peugeot at 2.46pm yesterday travelling 56mph in a 30mph zone on Castle Lane West.
The driver was given a ticket to attend court and was already on eight points.
Less than an hour later, a blue Ford was seen on the same road trying to overtake a bus, through a pedestrian crossing, on the wrong side of the road at speed.
The driver was also given a ticket to attend court and was on six points.
The Facebook post said: “The roads are quieter, it’s still reasonably busy with people conducting exercise - we can’t afford to have unnecessary accidents due to mistakes being made, both these drivers are likely now to be disqualified.”
