FIREFIGHTERS were called after an open fire had led to flames as high as 15-feet in a residential road.
Crews from Verwood Fire Station rushed to the blaze in the Woodlinken Drive area at 12.15pm on Saturday, following concerns raised by residents.
On arrival, they discovered that a builder was burning rubs on the site.
A spokesperson for the Fire Station said: "Due to the proximity of the fire to the fence and trees, we applied water to the fire to get it back to a manageable size and also cooled the fence.
"Advice was given and left in the hands of the builder.
"Please consider whether your bonfire is necessary and consider neighbours who are at home with windows open.
"We would recommend not to have bonfires at the moment."
