OFFICERS investigating an incident involving dogs that were reported to be out of control in East Dorset are issuing images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
At around 10.05am on Wednesday, February 19, a woman aged in her 20s and her mother were riding horses along a track between the Avon Causeway and Hurn Bridge Sports Club when they came across a man with two dogs off the lead.
The dogs were described as a fluffy black and brown Bernese Mountain-type dogs.
The dogs ran toward the horses and chased them, causing the younger woman’s horse to trip. The rider fell to the ground and sustained a broken collar bone.
The dogs’ owner took the injured woman to hospital and waited with her, but she did not get his details and he left when she was called in to receive treatment.
Police community support investigator Steve Willis, of East Dorset police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I have put out a previous appeal urging the owner of the dogs to come forward so we can get his account.
“We have still not been able to identity him so I am now releasing these images of the man believed to be involved and would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please come forward.”
