A CHILD has suffered serious injuries after they were involved in a crash with a car in North Dorset.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the collision between a car and a pedestrian in Gillingham following the collision, which took place at 11.46am.
The crash took place in Le Neubourg Way, which has been closed along with Wyke Road have been closed while emergency services deal with the incident.
South Western Ambulance Service is in attendance and the air ambulance has also been called to the scene.
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "We were called at 11.46am on Thursday, April 23, to Le Neubourg Way in Gillingham to a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
"It was reported that a child was in collision with a car. They have sustained injuries that are believed to be serious.
"Le Neubourg Way and Wyke Road have been closed while emergency services attend the incident.
"The ambulance and air ambulance are also in attendance."
