A FURTHER 587 patients who tested positive for the coronavirus have died in the past 24 hours, NHS England has said.
The total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England now stands at 17,373.
The patients were aged between 40 and 102-years-old.
Out of the 587 patients, 34 of them aged between 50 and 102-years-old had no known underlying health condition.
Their families have been informed.
A total of 31 deaths were reported in hospitals in the south west.
London recorded the highest number of deaths with 126.
