STUDENTS from Burton School have responded to a video from their teachers and staff at the school with an appreciation video of their own.
Year 5 pupils from the school in Christchurch filmed showed their teachers what they were getting up to during isolation and compiled it into a video to show they too were thinking abut and missing their teachers.
After seeing the video of his teacher’s dancing along to S Club 7, student Alfie Envine asked his mum Sally to help him put together a compilation to reply to their teachers.
Sally said: “My son Alfie along with his friend Liam loved their teachers’ video so much and asked me to help. Alfie decided on a song he wanted to use.
“So I set up a group along with the help of Liam’s mum for all the parents and we collect clips of the kids.
The video has been set to The Greatest Showman tune ‘From Now On’ and shows the students from Kestrels doing various activities at their homes including jumping on trampolines, singing and playing with their dogs.
Sally added: “They miss their teachers, friends and all the staff at the school more than I thought they would. We wanted to show the teachers and staff how missed they were and to make them smile like they made the children smile.
Melanie Browning, Liam’s mum, added: “The children in this class have been together as a class for three years and are missing each other so we wanted to do something that brought them back together."
