POLICE in Poole have been using their patrols to ensure no house parties are taking place during this period of lockdown.
After receiving a "handful" of complaints, officers patrolling around Poole have been targeting residential locations across Poole and Purbeck to ensure no house parties are happening in spite of the government guidelines.
Officers would usually use their late shifts into the early hours patrolling for potential disorder in relation to the nighttime industry, but no longer need to do so with pubs and bars closed down.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Patrol Officers on the late shift tonight until the early hours, would normally be patrolling for potential disorder in relation to nighttime economy. With Pubs & Bars closed, Officers are targeting residential locations across Poole and Purbeck to ensure no house parties are taking place.
"Gatherings inside or outside, with members not of your household are not permitted. Whilst your freedom is understandably important, right now saving lives is more important. This wont last forever. Please support the NHS and do your bit."
