One person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash between a car and a lorry on the A37.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "We received a report at 7.50am of a collision on the A37 in the area of Long Ash Lane involving a car and a lorry.
"Officers have attended, along with the fire and ambulance services, and road closures have been put in place.
"One person has been taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be serious.
"We are still at the scene and the road closures are still in place. Recovery of the vehicles is being arranged and the local authority is attending in relation to fuel on the road."
Road closures were in place between the A356 Maiden Newton turning and Norden Lane. These have now been lifted and emergency services have left the scene.
A Dorset Police spokesperson added: "We'd like to thank motorists for their patience while these are in place."
