A POLICE officer was dragged down a road in Poole and injured after a car reportedly drove off while being stop checked.
The male officer stopped a vehicle in Langley Road at around 2.40pm on Wednesday, April 29, when the incident took place.
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "As checks were being conducted the alleged offender reportedly drove off, causing the officer to be dragged down the road.
"He then fell to the ground and sustained cuts to his right arm."
A 43-year-old man from Bournemouth was later located and arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, assault of an emergency worker, failing to stop for police and for having no insurance and no driving licence.
He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
