THE organisers of the Bournemouth Air Festival have said there is 'no update' on whether this year's event will go ahead.
As reported, a raft of Dorset's established summer events have already been cancelled for 2020 due to the cornavirus pandemic.
However, arguably the largest of them all in the air festival has not been scrapped yet.
This year's air festival is set to be the 13th of the major flying showcase on the Bournemouth coast and it is due to take place from Thursday, August 20, to Sunday, August 24.
To date only one display team had publicly said it was appearing at the event – the Swiss Super Puma Display Team.
In March after the government's lockdown was first introduced an air festival spokesperson said: "The festival is still about five months away so we are still planning for the event and hopefully we can celebrate at the end of the summer.”
When approached by the Daily Echo on May 1, organisers said they currently had "no update" at present.
