A WOMAN has been jailed after stealing cash and power tools in burglaries on New Milton businesses.

Victoria Tracey Peters, aged 30, was arrested by officers after they were called to a report that she had smashed a window at hair salon Artaze Hair in Gore Road shortly after 5.30am on Sunday, February 23.

Earlier that night she had also broken into nearby LJ’s Snack Shack in Old Milton Road, taking money from the till.

Prior to this Peters broke into Milford Supplies DIY store in the same road and stole power tools from inside.

When officers arrived in Gore Road, they discovered Peters hiding behind a car around 300 metres away from Artaze Hair.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Monday, April 27, Peters, of Lower Buckland Road, Lymington, pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and one of attempted burglary. She also admitted a count of possessing a quantity of class A drug oxycodone.

She was sentenced to five months in prison, with the court noting her previous record of offending. The defendant was also ordered to pay a £122 surcharge.
