A POOLE man has been put behind bars after assaulting a woman.
Wayne Simon Brown, aged 43 and of High Street, Poole, appeared before Poole Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, April 27, in relation to the offence he committed on April 7.
Brown admitted assaulting the woman by beating her in Prior Road, Poole.
District judge Stephen Nicholls jailed the defendant for three months, with the court noting Brown's "flagrant disregard" for court orders.
A restraining order was also made, preventing Brown from contacting the victim directly or indirectly and he was ordered to pay £100 compensation.
He also admitted breaching a community order made following offences of assault and having a lock knife in a public place. He was committed to prison for three months concurrent by the courts.
The defendant also admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards the same victim in Poole on February 29. He was handed another three-month prison sentence to run concurrently.
