BOURNEMOUTH coach David Dunn insists they only have eyes on the league despite their crushing 63-5 EDF Intermediate Cup win at Newton Abbot.
The Lions lost 27-12 to the South West Division Two outfit on the same ground in the fourth round of the competition last season.
But they got revenge in the second round at Rackerhayes with winger Eddy Edwards running in four of the 10 tries that propelled the Chapel Gaters into the last 32.
It made it three wins on the trot for Bournemouth, who had opened the campaign with seven straight defeats in South West One following promotion.
Lions travel to Clevedon in the third round on December 8. Clevedon beat Salisbury 13-7 at home to fix up the tie.
Dunn's side had publicly targeted a Twickenham final appearance in 2006-07 before bowing out in the last 16. It is different this time, though, as he said: "The league remains our first priority in terms of making sure we are firing on all cylinders.
"But that result gives us massive confidence going into this weekend's league game at home to Redingensians."
Edwards was on fire, becoming only the fifth Bournemouth player to score a hat-trick in a cup match, and the second to run in four tries.
Scott Chislett, Iain Crombie, James Flynn, Sam Hardcastle, James Payne and Chris Ulu also touched down, with Flynn adding five conversions and one penalty.
Dunn said: "We went into the game hoping to replicate the intensity of our game that we play week in, week out in South West One. The players responded to the occasion and really did perform to that level of intensity and Newton Abbot couldn't live with it.
"It just goes to show the step up from South West Two to One is massive, but, perhaps more importantly, it showed the improvement we have made as a side. So while league results haven't gone our way we have been improving and developing the way we play and proved it to ourselves on Saturday.
"The players have come away knowing they have made significant improvements during the course of the season in all areas.
"We played some lovely rugby in the forwards, and the three-quarters scored some well worked tries. We played some stunning rugby."
Dunn, who used the game to "experiment", also praised the players he had brought in - Jason Davies, James Payne, Joe Burns, Michael Richards and Matt Kiely - for "stepping up".
Lions' Dorset and Wilts Cup last eight tie at Chippenham on December 8 will be put back.
Bournemouth: Payne, Edwards, Gray, Frost, Flynn, Chislett, Hardcastle (Davies 40), Burns, Ulu, Manning, Kenny, Seward, Richards, Crombie, Kiely. Unused subs: Cawley, Siaki.
