A BOURNEMOUTH musician is aiming to raise £20,000 for Boscombe venue Chaplin's & The Cellar Bar by shaving all of her hair off.
Becki Woods, otherwise known as Kimari Raven, is hoping to help Chaplin's owner Harry Seccombe reach his target of £20,000 to support and save the bar amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Becki performed her first gig at Chaplins in 2009 and since then frequently performed there with her bands and as a solo artist.
Upon seeing the Chaplin's fundraiser, Becki decided that she should support the venue she greatly appreciates.
She explained: "I love the venue and I really want to help them. Chaplin's is a valuable venue to have and losing it is unthinkable. Shaving my hair off is a big deal for me but it would be worth it to save Chaplin's."
Becki is well-known for having long, thick curly hair as it's a part of her performance style, so losing it would be a big shock to not only herself but to those who recognise her from performances.
Becki said: "I don't want to shave my hair, but I'd rather lose my hair than lose the bar. My hair is a symbol of my recovery, so this wasn't an easy decision to make but I want to do something good for the local community.
"If I can do this, I can do anything!"
Once £20,000 is raised for Chaplin's, Becki will shave her hair off.
