A vote which could have changed the political control of BCP Council took place on Tuesday night.
The Conservative group tabled a motion of no confidence in Unity Alliance leader Vikki Slade.
Cllr Slade, who is a Liberal Democrat councillor, has been leader of the council since the local elections last year.
The new conurbration-wide local authority has been run by the Unity Alliance coalition since residents went to the polls in May 2019.
