A LITTER pick on Bournemouth beach generated 50 bags of rubbish in one sitting.
The beach clean, organised by the Bournemouth Cannabis Social Club, took place on Saturday, June 20.
Group members saw an increase in litter left on and around the local area as a result of the good weather and decided to take matters into their own hands.
Member John White explained: "We saw the state of the beaches, so I set up a gofundme page to fundraise for litter pickers and high visibility jackets, We reached our target in an hour. The clean had a really good response from the public with people talking to us and asking about what we were doing.
"We all had a bag each which was either completely full or half full."
Following the success from the group's recent beach clean, John now hopes to hold monthly cleans on local beaches and areas such as Throop Mill and Bournemouth Lower and Upper Gardens.
