FLIX Drive In movie theatres is putting on its “largest event yet” in at Bournemouth Airport for the bank holiday.

Six days of film and music is on offer for customers to enjoy starting on Wednesday August 26 and running until Monday August 31.

There will also be music from DJs from Hot Radio as well as short films from local filmmakers Shoot From The Hip.

Showtimes run throughout the day, with the early shows more suitable for children and the evening films better suited for adults.

A spokesman from Flix Drive In said: “Following on from our other successful UK events this summer, Flix are bringing a new twist to an old classic, and we are going bigger and better for your enjoyment.

“We have an amazing array of Hollywood blockbusters, with some newly acquired titles to choose from, for all the family; and we are supporting local businesses too.

“We have showtimes throughout the day to suit you. Fun favourites for the kids, singalong matinees for all, and a later start for some evening entertainment for the grown-ups.”

On offer for the early shows will be Lion King (2019), Moana, Frozen 2, Wall-E, Matilda, and Aladdin (2019). The matinees include Mamma Mia, The Greatest Showman, Bohemian Rhapsody, Grease and Pretty Woman.

While the evening films include classics such as Fight Club, 1917, Pulp Fiction, Superbad, A Star Is Born and Joker.

On the Sunday afternoon from 3:30pm, there will be a charity fundraising music event with community broadcaster, Hot Radio.

A selection of Ibiza classics to enjoy from the comfort of your own car, with all proceeds going to the community station for the Poole and Bournemouth areas. It is a two-hour show, with a maximum of four people per vehicle.

For children, there will also be an interactive “Flix princess” who will answer questions live on the big screen.

Customers will have their own allocated, socially distanced parking space. There will be a large LED screen suitable for all types of weather and supplied by a local business.

Ofcom-licenced sound will be played directly to the car’s system and a wide range of food and drink is available.
