MOREBUS services are facing major delays this afternoon due to a “significant number of illegally parked cars and congestion”.
The bus company said its Breezer 50 services are experiencing “significant delays” this afternoon.
Ferry Road and Tower Road in Poole are the two particular areas causing issues.
In a statement posted on its website today, Morebus said: “Due to a significant number of illegally parked cars and congestion in various locations along the route, Breezer 50 services are being subject to significant delays.
“Ferry Road is suffering from these issues resulting in heavily increased journey times. Some services may also divert the land route non-stop via Wareham.

They added: “Additionally to this, illegally parked cars in Tower Road mean services are being forced to divert, and will be unable to serve stops in Tower Road, Pinewood Road and Westminster Road (Westbourne).
“We are in the process of liaising with BCP Council to attempt to resolve the situation and are attempting to utilise all available spare resources to help reduce delays.”
Earlier today, Graham Crane captured images of two Morebus buses that had become stuck in Studland due to cars blocking the road.
Passengers can track the location of each bus using the ‘live map’ feature on the website.
A spokesperson added: “Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
As reported on the Daily Echo website today, illegally parked cars can now be towed away by the council under new powers introduced across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
BCP Council will run a trial of their effectiveness until the end of September before deciding whether to make them permanent.
