A BUSINESS specialising in a legal cannabis-derived supplement says its sales have soared as stressed-out customers look to ease their Covid-19 anxiety.
CBD Shopy, based in Ringwood, says website visits from customers interested in cannabidiol (CBD) have almost doubled since March.
It says sales of speciality items such as its ZenBears gummy range have also surged.
It says many users claim CBD helps reduce anxiety and promote better sleep.
Layton Brooks, director and co-founder of CBD Shopy, said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted all of our lives in one way or another and created a difficult period of uncertainty and stress.
“For a growing number of people, CBD has been an effective way of managing tension and anxiety as a result of the pandemic.
“Our online shop has never been so busy, with sales across our range of products having roughly doubled since mid-March.
“One of our most popular ranges has been the ZenBears CBD gummies, a fun twist on the popular sweets which a lot of people prefer to other products such as CBD oil drops or capsules,” he added.
CBD Shopy describes itself as one of the UK’s most trusted CBD shops, with more than 450 positive reviews on the website TrustPilot.
Among its best-selling products are Full Spectrum CBD Oil, Love CBD Entourage Capsules and CBD Life Hemp Oil.
The business was founded by Mr Brooks and his business partner Claudio Santos and began trading last year.
Its vegan-friendly ZenBears gummies come with 20mg of cannabidiol in each bear.
The products are free of the cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which the business says means they use the goodness of the hemp plant without the main psychoactive compound.
CBD products are legal in the UK providing they contain no THC.
The number of people using CBD oil in the UK has been estimated at around 1.3million. Its advocates say it can relieve pain, inflammation, depression and insomnia.
