With generous portions, fine butchers meat and lashing of gravy this roast has been absolutely raved about on TripAdvisor. 

Sunday roasts are served from midday and there is a selection of; wood roasted chicken, overnight cooked ham hock, roasted 28-day-aged topside of beef, slow cooked lamb shoulder or stuffled Isle of Wight aubergine.

Gilbey's Restaurant, Wollstonecraft Road, BH5

Not your average roast, Gilbey's offers an added je ne sais quoi to the British tradition. 

The french restaurant offers roast rib of beef, roast lamb, duck breast, sea bass or panache of seafood.

The price is quite reasonable at £20 for two courses or £26 for three.

A traditional roast with all the trimmings costs £12.50 and you can choose between rare topside of beef, pork belly or a vegan option. 

1812, Exeter Road, BH2

Independent restaurant and bar, 1812 has been heralded as "the best roast in Dorset" by rave reviewers on Google.

The Sunday roasts are served with a Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a red wine jus. 

The options include slow braised feather blade of beef, roast chicken breast, honey and mustard glazed gammon or a spinach, sage and onion nut roast. 

The mouth-watering roasts cost £20 for two courses or £24 for three courses.

The Libertine, Alumhurst Road, BH4 8EL

Perfect for roast-lovers and pick eaters alike, The Libertine not only serves delicious roasts on Sundays but also has a wide menu to choose from. 

Roasts come with beef dripping roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, kale, cauliflower cheers, Yorky and gravy. 

The options include a sirloin of beef, roast chicken breast, shoulder of pork or a vegetarian roast and there is also a child's half portion available. 

The price for a meat roast at The Libertine starts at £13.95.
