The new leader of BCP Council will be chosen tonight at an extraordinary meeting.
Two weeks after former leader, Cllr Vikki Slade, was ousted following a vote of no confidence, councillors are set to vote on their new leader.
Cllr Slade is due to be nominated as the Unity Alliance candidate for the leader position and go up against Conservative group leader councillor Drew Mellor.
The vote of no confidence followed the deaths of two members of the Unity Alliance coalition and the decision of councillor Julie Bagwell to quit the group in the wake of the backlash over its active travel proposals.
Tonight's leadership vote will see the new leader select a deputy and a new cabinet.
The meeting starts at 7pm.
