BOURNEMOUTH beach was once again busy with pedestrians and day trippers two days after the second national lockdown was enforced.
The shopping centre of the Dorset town fell silent on Thursday after a busy last day of trade on Wednesday before the lockdown.
However there continued to be a strong presence of people on the beachfront, with many people queuing up for takeaway services and seaside kiosks and restaurants such as Harry Ramsdens and The Prom Kiosk.
A Boscombe resident said: “There are quite a few people around but if you look at the car parks, they are pretty empty which shows that the majority of people here are actually locals.
“Personally, I don’t see what the problem is.”
Covid marshals were seen on the beachfront talking to people and informing them of correct practice when out in public under the current restrictions.
Although they acknowledged that a lot of people were near the beach, they confirmed that they had had no issues with residents flouting Covis-19 rules.
A Bournemouth resident added: “There is nothing stopping people from going on walks.
“I am out with my wife for a walk as she is in the same bubble as me. It just seems as though a lot of other people have the same idea.”
