A MAN was arrested after a car crashed into a set of traffic lights in West Parley.
Police were called shortly before 7am to a collision in New Road near Parley Cross.
A black Volkswagen Polo had crashed into a barrier, causing significant damage.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Officers attended along with the ambulance service.
“The fire service was also contact in relation to fuel in the road and the local authority was contacted in relation to damage to traffic lights at the scene.
“A man was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and was subsequently taken to hospital. We do not have an update on his condition at this time.
“The vehicle was recovered and the road was reopened at around 8.40am.”
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "We were called to Parley Cross at 7.16am this morning, one crew from Redhill Park attended and found a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle.
"No-one was trapped so we made the scene safe, dealt with a fuel spillage, and assisted the police with traffic management.
"Our stop was at 7.31am and we left the scene shortly after 8am."
