BOURNEMOUTH has changed considerably in recent years.
Whether you're a long-standing resident or have recently relocated to the area, here are Google Street View images showing the changing face of the town centre.
Exeter Road
Exeter Road in April 2009, the Hilton Hotel and BH2 complex have not yet been built. The BH2 site is being used as a public car park and in its former life it was was once Bournemouth bus station.

On the left of this image from April 2011, you can see the trees have been cleared at the site where the Hilton would go on to be built. Exeter Road car park remains open.
In June 2014, work was taking place on the new hotel. BH2 is still yet to be built.
By October 2016, the Hilton Hotel was built and work on the new BH2 cinema complex was taking place. BH2 opened in February 2017.
By September 2020, popular Italian restaurant Valentino, which had been open for 32 years, is permanently closed.

Further along Exeter Road in September 2009, you can see the car park as it once was with the Bournemouth Balloon to the left.
The car park remained in August 2012.
And here's how the site looked in July 2019.
The other end of Exeter Road, opposite the BIC, Punshon Memorial Church still stood in April 2009.
By May 2016, the church had been demolished.
And by September 2020, it was being used as a car park. In August 2020, plans for a seven-storey block of 85 flats were approved for the site.
Holdenhurst Road
Holdenhurst Road in September 2009.
A crane can be seen to the left of the picture in June 2015 with building work going on.
This picture taken in June 2018 shows the student block taking more shape.
The buildings have shot up by July 2019.
And this is how things looked by September 2020.
Further down Holdenhurst Road, this is how it looked off Station Roundabout in May 2009 with the recognisable American Golf store in the picture.
The store remained in April 2011 with work going on nearby.
By July 2017, the American Golf store had been demolished.
June 2019 and a student accommodation block is under construction.
And here's how it looks in September 2020.
Westover Road
The bottom end of Westover Road in April 2009 shows The Brasshouse pub and the former Tourist Information Centre and public toilets to the left.
The Tourist Information Centre and public toilets were still located in Westover Road in May 2016
By July 2019, the TIC building had been replaced by The Stable restaurant and the toilets closed

In June 2020, plans to redevelop the former Odeon cinema building into flats were approved following two failed attempts.
Oxford Road
How it looked in May 2009
It looked largely unchaned in July 2017
By June 2018, worth had started taking shape on the corner with another building sprouting up further along the road
By June 2019, the road had become much more high-rise
