MORE than 120 new coronavirus cases have been recorded across Dorset, according to the latest government update.
The update from the Department of Health and Social Care website reported that in the BCP area there were 79 new cases were reported in the 24 hours up to 6.04pm on Wednesday, December 16, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 7,905.
Meanwhile, in the Dorset Council area 50 cases were reported in the same period. Since March 3,615 cases have been confirmed.
This means 129 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the county as a whole.
On Tuesday, 93 cases recorded across Dorset.
The number of cases in the BCP area over the latest rolling seven-day period is 313, with a rate of 79.2 per 100,000 of the population. In Dorset, 167 cases have been confirmed in the last past seven days. The case rate is 44.1.
In the New Forest there were 24 new cases. The total in the district since the pandemic started is 2,102. A total of 128 cases have been seen in the latest rolling seven-day period and the case rate is 71.1.
