MORE than 100 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in the BCP Council area, according to the latest government update.
The Department of Health and Social Care website shows there were 161 positive Covid-19 tests reported across all of Dorset in the 24 hours up to 4pm on Friday, December 25.
With 103 positive tests recorded across the conurbation in this period, the total number of confirmed BCP cases since the start of the pandemic to 8,708.
Meanwhile, in the Dorset Council area 58 cases have been reported in the same period. Since March 4,030 cases have been confirmed.
In the Christmas Eve update, 116 coronavirus cases were recorded across Dorset.
The number of cases in the BCP area over the latest rolling seven-day period is 677, with a rate of 171.2 per 100,000 people.
In the Dorset Council region, 353 cases have been confirmed in this period, with a case rate is 93.3.
In the New Forest there were 54 new cases. The total in the district since the pandemic started is 2,367.
A total of 203 cases have been seen in the latest seven-day period and the case rate is 112.7.
