MORE than 400 new coronavirus cases have been recorded across Dorset, according to the latest government update.
The Department of Health and Social Care website shows there were 418 positive Covid-19 tests reported in the county in the 24 hours up to 3.45pm on Saturday, December 26.
In the BCP Council area there were 291 positive tests recorded in this period. The total number of confirmed BCP cases since the start of the pandemic to 8,999.
Meanwhile, in the Dorset Council area 127 cases have been reported in the 24-hour period. Since March 4,157 cases have been confirmed.

In the Christmas Day update, 161 coronavirus cases were recorded across Dorset.
The number of cases in the BCP area over the latest rolling seven-day period is 728, with a rate of 184.1 per 100,000 people.
In the Dorset Council region, 392 cases have been confirmed in this period, with a case rate is 103.6.
In the New Forest there were 75 new cases. The total in the district since the pandemic started is 2,442.
A total of 211 cases have been seen in the latest seven-day period and the case rate is 117.2.
