A POLICE officer has pleaded with car owners to help him defeat a spate of vehicle crime in Westbourne.
PC Joel Brooks has urged people to stop leaving items on display in cars and to report all offences in the area.
In a post on Facebook he said: "People of Westbourne, I need your help.I absolutely love this patch and the people in it.
"My biggest issue at the moment is vehicle crime. I'm more desperate than anyone to catch these thieves, but I need your help.

"Please don't make it easy for them by leaving anything on display. If, sadly, you do end up being a victim of crime, please report it, no matter if anything is taken. This helps me build a picture of where and when it is happening.
"And lastly please keep your eyes peeled and if you see anything or anyone suspicious. Please call 101 if non urgent, or report online. Ref 55200108390 will assist me."
