DETECTIVES investigating a violent double stabbing in Poole town centre have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to.

Two men were stabbed in the early hours at the multi-storey car park at Hill Street in the week before Christmas.

One of the victims, aged in his 30s, suffered a deep laceration to his neck, while the other victim, also aged in his 30s, was stabbed in the back.

Both of them were taken to hospital for treatment to their serious but non-life threatening injuries and have since been discharged.

Meanwhile, two other men were arrested at the time on suspicion of causing GBH.

After helping detectives with their enquiries this pair were released and face no further police action.

Now officers have released a CCTV image of another man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Fran Howard, of Bournemouth CID, said: "The victims in this case suffered nasty injuries and we have been carrying out a number of enquiries to try and identify the man responsible.

“I am now in a position to issue a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to and would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us.”

Police were called to Hill Street at around 4.30am on Monday, December 21, 2020.

The car park was cordoned off and forensics officers carried out a detailed examination of the area.

Neighbours said police also searched bins in the surrounding area.

One resident also told the Echo they heard a commotion in the early hours with people shouting and swearing.
