OVER 900 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Dorset and the New Forest in the last 24 hours.
Government figures released this afternoon reveal there have been a total of 25,771 cases in the area since the start of the pandemic.
There were a further 619 cases in Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole, taking the total number of cases in the local authority area past 15,000 to 15,113.
In total, 3,204 have been reported in the BCP Council rea in the last week, with an infection rate per 100,000 population of 810.5.
In the Dorset Council area, area the rate is 339.5 per 100,000 after 190 more cases brought the total to 6,763.
Elsewhere in The New Forest, a further 107 cases brought the area’s total to 3,895 and an infection rate of 425.4.
