RECENTLY there has been much discussion in the Echo and on the letters page about the opening of the Keyhole Bridge in Poole Park.
As I understand it the main reason for closure was to provide a route through for cyclists and walkers alike, however in the past the bridge has provided a useful through route for motorists to exit the park.
Surely a good compromise would be to install a traffic light system, this could control cars from both directions giving them free passage, together with a separate light system for cyclists and pedestrians again given them free safe passage through the bridge.
Perhaps this solution is too simple, however it could be trialled with temporary traffic lights to see if it is an acceptable solution to all concerned.
