THE SUN might be out across the conurbation and other parts of Dorset, but for some, it’s a completely different picture.
People in North Dorset opened their doors and curtains to see their gardens, roads and surrounding houses and fields covered in snow on Sunday morning.
Snow has fallen across a number of areas, including Sherborne, Blandford Forum, Gillingham and Shaftesbury.
For some younger children and animals, it is the first time they have experienced the white stuff.
It comes after the Met Office issued a snow and ice weather warning for Dorset and the wider South West throughout Sunday.
The snow has also caused ‘difficult driving conditions’ on several roads, as a serious crash forced the A35 to be closed in both directions.
No more snow is forecast for Dorset as Met Office has issued another weather warning for ice, which will be in place from midnight until 11am on Monday, January 25.
The weather forecasters warn that the fresh alert will see icy patches ‘likely cause some travel disruption.’
But, despite the disruption, snow can be beautiful, and since we don't see it that often, here's some snowy pictures from our readers.
If you got a picture of the snow or ice, we would love to see it! Email us at newsdesk@dorsetecho.co.uk
