FEWER than 300 coronavirus cases were confirmed across Dorset in the last 24 hours, latest figures show.
Data released by the government shows 295 cases were recorded in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Monday.
In the BCP Council area, 206 cases were recorded, taking the conurbation’s total since the start of the pandemic to 20,856.
The Dorset Council area recorded 89 cases, taking the total to 9,022
In the seven days leading up to January 20, the latest rolling seven-day period, 2,578 cases were recorded in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 652.1 per 100,000 people.
The Dorset Council area had a rolling rate of 301.2 per 100,000, with 1,140 cases confirmed in the latest rolling seven-day period.
Yesterday, 507 cases were confirmed across Dorset.
Elsewhere, 40 cases were recorded in the New Forest, taking the area’s total to 5,030
The rolling rate stood at 288.8 per 100,000, with 520 cases confirmed in the week leading up to January 20.
