A Dorset-based papercut artist has created a paper craft project anyone can create at home to bring colour to lockdown. And it also raises money for nationwide foodbank charity The Trussell Trust.
Kyleigh Orlebar founder of Kyleigh's Papercuts found herself once again shielding and unable to go to her beloved Wimborne shop in the current lockdown. So she has created a paper window rainbow that anyone can print off at home, cut it out and display in their windows to help passers by raise a smile.
50% of every sale goes directly to The Trussell Trust in helping them to support a nationwide network of food banks providing emergency food and support to people locked in poverty.
"After the success of the rainbow I created for last lockdown, I just had to revisit it for 2021. So many people sent me images of them creating and displaying their rainbows, that here was a way I could give that pleasure again, help pay the rent on my closed shop and raise funds for charity all in one go!" Kyleigh says.
Trying to think of everyone, there is a version to cut out with a scalpel for serious papercutters, a version for the kids to colour in and cut with scissors, a coloured version to simply cut around and even a small version for tiny windows.
Kyleigh's Papercuts has been running for over ten years with Kyleigh teaching papercutting workshops from her riverside shop in the heart of Wimborne Minster for six years and at festivals such at Kirtie Allsopps Handmade Fair at Hampton Court Palace, Fearne Cotton's Happy Place Festival, The Larmer Tree Festival and CarFest South.
Rainbow template is £4 and available from www.kyleighspapercuts.co.uk
