STUDENTS at Bournemouth University can now be tested for coronavirus twice a week at the on-campus facility.
The site, available from 10am to 3pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the Student Centre, uses lateral flow device testing kits for Covid-19.
And from February 1, the facility will be widened for use twice a week by any staff member or student.
A spokesperson for Bournemouth University said: “While campus use is limited during the national lockdown, the rollout of further testing has been approved to further the safety measures at universities and to look for asymptomatic cases of Covid-19.
“Therefore, from Monday, February 1, until initially February 15, all staff and students accessing campus and wanting a test will be able to have up to two tests per week, bookable through the usual booking route.
“All staff and students wishing to book a test should do so through the booking system, and you should only be attending campus if you have expressed permission to do so, for face-to-face teaching, or if you cannot study at home.
“If you test positive for Covid-19, you must self-isolate immediately and follow the NHS Test & Trace procedure. You can find out more about the support available to you during your self-isolation period on our website.”
