ALMOST 450 coronavirus cases were confirmed across Dorset in the last 24 hours, latest figures show.
Data released by the government shows 442 cases were recorded in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Thursday January 28.
In the BCP Council area, 263 cases were recorded, taking the conurbation’s total to 21,548 since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the seven days leading up to January 28, 2,342 cases were recorded in BCP, giving an infection rate of 593.4 per 100,000 people of the population.
Meanwhile, the Dorset Council area recorded 179 cases, taking their total to 9,407.
The local authority area had a rolling rate of 264.5 per 100,000, with 1,001 cases confirmed in the latest seven-day period.
Elsewhere, 64 cases were recorded in the New Forest, taking the area’s total to 5,176.
The rolling rate stood at 267.1 per 100,000, with 481 cases confirmed in the week leading up to January 28.
