AREAS just east of Dorset could be hit with snow this weekend, prompting the Met Office to issue a yellow weather warning.
The Met Office said snow showers in the far north-east of the UK will spread southwards, creating a “chance of heavier snow for a time in the south”.
A further snow signal into Monday/Monday evening too, as low pressure is never too far away from our shores. There could be some widespread snow showers to come over the next couple of days 👀 Tuesday gets very close to delivering the perfect channel low. pic.twitter.com/FWfLivrApN

The warning is in place for Saturday and Sunday and people have been told there is a small chance of travel delays on roads and some stranded vehicles.
“Cold air, along with snow showers to low levels pushing inland from the North Sea, is expected to spread south during the weekend. Not all locations will see snow, with the showers likely to miss some places altogether,” the Met Office said.
Although Dorset does not come under the warning, local forecaster Dorset Snow warned this does not exempt the county.
It said: “Snow warning released for areas east of Dorset. Remember, a snow warning doesn’t exempt areas outside of the warning area from seeing falling snow. The highlighted areas are just the ones most at risk.”
