THE popular Wimborne Minster Folk Festival has been cancelled for the second year running.
Organisers said the ongoing situation with the coronavirus pandemic means the event will not be able to go ahead.
It was due to take place from June 11-13.
Now organisers have revealed dates for next year, the event's 40th birthday.
The event usually attracts tens of thousands of people and is eagerly-anticipated.
A spokesman for the festival committee said: "It is with regret that we have to announce that this year's Wimborne Minster Folk Festival has been cancelled due to the ongoing situation with the pandemic.
"We are hoping we will be able to have some online multimedia performances of both dance and music over that weekend. Watch this space.
"The 2022 Wimborne Minster Folk Festival - our 40th Birthday - will be our biggest and best yet. The dates will be June 10-12 2022.
"May we take this opportunity to say thank you to each and everyone of you for your understanding, patience and support. It is very much appreciated."
The event is the latest to be affected by the ongoing pandemic.
The Bournemouth Bay Run has been cancelled and the Bournemouth7s festival has been put back until August.
