COASTGUARDS have urged people to stay back from the sea during high tides and strong winds today.
They have urged people to be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths, particularly in the Swanage area.
Residents wake to light dusting of snow
A spokesman for Poole Coastguard said: "Winds are forecast to be Force 6 East North East. Strong winds will raise tide levels at Swanage and generate waves that may cause sea spray and some water to overtop the quay and esplanade area.
"Be careful along beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths on the East Coast of Dorset as large waves could be dangerous."
