OVER 100 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Dorset in the last 24 hours, latest figures reveal.
Data released by the government shows that in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Tuesday, February 9 148 Covid-19 cases were confirmed across the county.
The BCP Council area recorded 99 cases, taking the conurbation’s total since the start of the pandemic to 23,423.
In the seven days leading up to February 4, the latest seven-day rolling period, 1,153 cases were recorded in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 291.7 per 100,000 people.
The Dorset Council area recorded 49 new coronavirus cases, taking the total to 10,431,
The infection rate stood at 160.4 per 100,000 people, with 607 cases confirmed in a week.
Elsewhere, 19 cases were confirmed in the New Forest, taking the total to 5,559.
The rolling infection rate was 128.8 after 232 cases were confirmed in the lead up to February 4.
