A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said six sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a main line were used to tackle the fire.
The spokesman added: "Positive pressure ventilation was then used to clear the smoke. The crews who attended initially requested assistance so this incident ended up with seven fire engines and a aerial ladder platform."
