THE Covid vaccination programme in Dorset has now seen more than 200,000 doses delivered across the county.
Data released by NHS England on Thursday, February 11, showed that a cumulative total of 201,211 doses had been administered to Dorset residents between December 8, 2020, and February 7.
This means in the seven days to February 7, 47,083 jabs were given in the county – 23 per cent of the overall total to date.
This was up from 43,431 jabs in the seven days to January 31.
It is estimated that 96 per cent of Dorset's over 80s (55,269 people) had received their first jab, based on Office for National Statistics population estimates from 2019.
A total of the 7,148 in this most senior age group have now received both doses – an increase of just 16 people from the previous week.
The number of people aged 75 to 79 to have received the first dose stood at 37,434, which is in excess of the estimated overall population for this age group based on ONS 2019 data.
In the 70 to 74 age group, 39,286 have been given their first dose. A total of 60,311 under 70s have received the first part of the inoculation process.
Nationally, just shy of 11 million vaccine doses had been administered up to February 7 as the immunisation programme continues.
Out of 42 local areas in England, Dorset sits 27th in terms of the overall number of vaccine jabs it has given.
