THE Lytchett Minster Carnival is the latest event to fall victim to the coronavirus pandemic.
The carnival’s committee confirmed the event will not be going ahead as planned this year due to the “ongoing uncertainty”.
In a statement, it said: “It is with deep regret that the carnival committee has taken the sad decision to postpone this year’s carnival.
“With the ongoing uncertainty around social distancing and group participation events we do not feel that it would be responsible of us to go ahead this year. We look forward to all of you joining us for Carnival 2022.
“We have made this decision now as we normally have outstanding support from our local schools and groups and we are aware of how difficult recent months have been for all of them and do not wish to add any extra pressure to them at this time.
“If anyone has any questions or queries or wishes to join the committee please get in touch.
"Please stay safe and care for each other.”
