A BURGLAR who stole wine and snacks from a North Dorset hotel has been jailed.
Daniel Ashley Westwood, 25 and of no fixed abode, entered Crown Hotel in West Street, Blandford Forum, on February 11, as a trespasser and stole the items.
Appearing before district judge Stephen Nicholls on February 15, Westwood pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary as well as two breaches of a criminal behaviour order, which were committed while out in the street in Blandford Forum on February 6 and February 11, respectively.
The court heard the first of these involved the defendant using abusive and insulting language, while the other involved him shouting threats at a member of the public.
Judge Nicholls committed Westwood to prison for 12 weeks for the burglary, two weeks consecutive for the first criminal behaviour order breach and two weeks concurrent for the second, meaning an overall prison sentence of 14 weeks.
