A BURGLAR has appeared in court after stealing £3.50 worth of Walkers crisps from a Bournemouth town centre branch of bakery Greggs.
Karl Simons, aged 34 and of St Paul’s Lane, Bournemouth, entered the premises in Commercial Road on October 5 last year and stole the snacks.
On the same day he assaulted PC Cleary by beating him at Bournemouth Custody in Madeira Road.
Simons admitted burglary and assaulting an emergency worker when he appeared in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 17.
The bench fined him £80 for each offence, as well as an order to pay £50 costs.
The defendant was also ordered to pay £3.50 compensation to Greggs and £50 compensation to PC Cleary.
