FIRE crews from Christchurch and Poole were called out to a tractor fire on a quiet county lane in Christchurch.
Firefighters from Christchurch Fire Station used two pumps and a water carrier to put out the farming vehicle, which was said to be “well alight” at 4pm today on Pitt House Lane.
Environmental protection equipment was used by crews from Poole fire station, who also attended, as “a large quantity of oil” was seen leaking from the tractor.
Representatives from Dorset Police and BCP Council were also in attendance to secure the scene.
In an announcement on their Twitter account, Christchurch Fore Station said: “Crews have attended a tractor fire this afternoon.
“A large quantity of oil and fuel leaked from the tractor so environmental protection equipment was deployed by Poole Fire Station on-call.
“Support was also provided from Dorset Traffic Cops and BCP Council to make the scene safe."
