THE countdown is on until pubs and restaurants can reopen their doors and welcome back customers again.

After more than three months of lockdown measures, many venues are busy preparing for the moment they can get back to serving their regulars.

We all have a favourite pub, restaurant or café we’re looking forward to revisiting, so here are some dates to look forward to.

Ojo Rojo

The independent Mexican eatery located in the Triangle will be reopening its popular Hacienda area on Wednesday, April 14, along with a new bar, kitchen and new menu.

Bournemouth Echo:

In a post on Facebook, Ojo Rojo said: “This will of course be in line with government guidelines and restrictions. We will then follow the guideline dates and rules to work towards the June date where we can potentially trade without restrictions and be the Ojo Rojo that we all know and love.

"We can't wait to open for your drinking and dining pleasure (again) and will keep you up to date on all changes we are making before we open our doors.”

Roots

Bournemouth Echo:

Southbourne restaurant Roots will reopen its doors on June 2 with owners promising it will be “bigger, better and full of energy”. 

Online booking is now open from June 16 with tables offered to those who had reservations cancelled first.

The restaurant will be open Wednesday to Saturday for dinner with a lunch menu available between Thursday and Saturday. Once a month there will be roast dinner available.

The Boathouse

Bournemouth Echo:

The Boathouse in Christchurch will be open from April 12. There will be sheltered outdoor seating available for dining only.

People are welcome to turn up without a booking for dining or drinks only, but they will only be seated if there is available space. 

WestBeach 

Bournemouth seafood restaurant WestBeach will open from April 12 with beachside dining available from 9am each day.

The beach decking area will return "bigger and better" than before. Bookings are now open. 

Then on May 21, W Beach will launch offering beachside drinking and dining. It has been described as "Ibiza beach club style, set on the golden sand of Bournemouth’s sparkling seafront."

The Miramar Hotel

The Miramar is taking bookings for al fresco drinks and food on the terrace from April 12 with live jazz on reopening day to celebrate. 

Brewhouse & Kitchen 

Bournemouth's Brewhouse & Kitchen will reopen for outdoor service on April 12 with indoor bookings from May 17. 

Aruba

Popular seafront bar Aruba will be reopening its doors on May 17. 

The Jetty at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel 

The Jetty Restaurant and the Upper Deck at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel will be open for alfresco dining on the terrace Wednesday to Sunday from April 14. 

Brasserie Blanc

Brasserie Blanc located at the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel will reopen on May 17 with a brand new spring/summer menu. Seating will be available indoors and along the terrace with views overlooking the sea. 

Pebble Beach

Barton on Sea restaurant Pebble Beach will welcome back customers for outdoor dining on April 14 with indoor service from May 17. The restaurant will be open seven days a week between 10am and 11pm with food served between 12pm and 9pm. 

The Olive Branch

The Olive Branch in Wimborne will reopen from April 14. Online bookings are now open for tables of up to six people. The venue also has an open-sided marquee up in the garden to keep customers dry should the weather take a turn for the worse. 

The Bunker Cafe and Bar

Independent cafe bar The Bunker in Christchurch will reopen for takeaways and outside seating only on April 13 with new temporary hours of 9am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Table will be available on a first come first serve basis. A reduced food menu will be available until the venue reopens fully from May 21. 

Hot Rocks 

Hot Rocks at Pier Approach will open for outdoor service on the terrace between April 12 and May 17. Online booking is available. 

The Slug and Lettuce

Bournemouth's The Slug and Lettuce will reopen its outdoor area from April 12. Online booking now available. 

Greene King pubs

The following Greene King pubs are among 442 of the chain's venues reopening their beer gardens from April 12:

• Old Rooms Inn, Weymouth

• Richmond Arms, Bournemouth

• Sandpiper, Christchurch

• Spyglass & Kettle, Southbourne

• Tap & Railway, West Moors

• Walkford, Walkford

The Oaks at Highcliffe

The Oaks will be open for lunch, drinks and dinner from April 12 and will be serving a new spring menu.
