A MAN has been handed a suspended prison sentence for a variety of offences which included store thefts and taking a motorbike without the owner's permission.
Christopher Paul Lawrence Jones was spared an immediate jail term when he was sentenced at Poole Magistrates' Court earlier this month.
Jones, aged 33 and of Kenyon Road, Poole, had previously admitted three counts of theft, which concerned taking a £25.50 bottle gin from Asda in Culliford Crescent, Poole on August 5, 2020, and stealing building tools and equipment from A1 Hire and Sales Ltd in Old Wareham Road, Poole, on December 27 and December 30, 2019.
He pleaded guilty to taking a KTM 125 Duke 14 motorbike from a man without the owner's consent on August 12, 2020.
The defendant also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress, and the offence was racially aggravated, in West Cliff Gardens, Bournemouth, on May 3, 2020.
Jones's crimes saw him breach a conditional discharge order and he had failed to comply with a community order.
Magistrates issued a series of prison sentences which totalled 14 weeks, suspended for two years.
He was required to pay £275 compensation to the owner of the motorbike, £10 compensation to Asda, £100 compensation to A1 Hire and Sales Ltd, as well as a £75 fine.
