A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle after police responded to reports of someone trying to open car doors in a residential area of Bournemouth.
Dorset Police was called at 2.20am on Friday, February 26, to reports of the potentially suspicious behaviour in Iddesleigh Road, Charminster.
Officers attended, including armed response who were nearby at the time, and a search of the area was carried out.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "A 31-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and possession of a Class B drug and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
"Some suspected stolen items were recovered."
Police said any residents who suspect that they have had their vehicle targeted overnight should report the matter by calling 101, by emailing 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or via the website dorset.police.uk.
