EMERGENCY services were called to help a dinghy stuck in the mud in Holesbay on Saturday evening.
A spokesperson for Poole Coastguard Rescue Team said: “Whilst on a patrol checking access points, the team of Poole Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to investigate the welfare of a person in a tender, stuck on mud in Holesbay, with backup from Poole Fire Station and Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service technical rescue crew.
“Due to the drop in temperature and still an hour before the sea level rises enough to float off, it was agreed for fire service mud technician to deploy to the mud to check the welfare of the person and look at getting them to a place of safety, while the coastguard mud team standby as emergency backup and safety cover.
“Great teamwork by both fire rescue and HM Coastguard getting the person safe.”
